About Us

About Madison Daoguan
The spirit of the Daoguan is cooperative, rather than competitive in nature. We encourage students to go at their own pace in connection with the needs of their own bodies. The Daoguan is a place to slow down, relax, and not be rushed. Peace of mind/wellness is present in all aspects of teaching. Classes are offered for those new to taijiquan and seasoned practitioners.
Yen-nien Daoguan, Madison is nationally and internationally connected with Yangjia Michuan Taijiquan Schools and individual practitioners. Therefore Yen-nien Daoguan students have opportunities to attend workshops in various locations in the United States, Mexico, Europe, South Africa, and Asia.
Yen-nien Daoguan is committed to promoting all noncompetitive styles of Taijiquan, as well as other healing arts. We encourage you to join us and take a step toward physical and mental health.
Our classes are small in size and are generally taught in early mornings or evenings (both weekdays and weekends). Classes run on a semester basis with the semesters starting in January, May, and September. We also offer summer opportunities. Several coaches instruct at the Daoguan. Therefore, we are able to offer both beginning and advanced levels of practice. All of the coaches have been practicing taijiquan for many years.
Formerly known as:
- Empty Mind Full Belly School of Internal Boxing Art
(reflecting the fact that we teach more then taiji e.g., Bagua); - YNDM, Yen-nien Daoguan, Madison
(at Master Wang’s suggestion);
